Room renovations are costly, but what if you like to switch things up from time to time? We have an answer! Go for a basic set up. Wait, what?
Yes!
First, establish a basic set up (bed, plain and minimalist bedside tables, closet and the likes) and let it be your blank bedroom canvas and start working from there.
We love how this bedroom created its own hint of tribal design through accessorizing. Usually, we see the common components of the bedroom like the headboard, and its matching side tables but this bedroom used the basics to transform it to a themed room. If you are opting for a headboard, we recommend choosing a basic one that you can dress up. For example, if you chose a highly quilted headboard, you will only get to dress it up according to accessories that go with that design compared to having a basic one, which allows more adventure and flexibility.
This bedroom used a large interesting art piece as the room’s focal point. If after several months you want to change things up a bit, you can easily replace this by hanging a different art piece, decoration, or art work to set the mood differently.
Notice how instead of the regular bedside lamps, a full length mirror and a decorative ladder was used on the opposite sides. Both items were made of wood materials that matched the art piece focal point. It helps also that the bedside tables were minimalist in style and made up of the same material. To switch things up, you can remove the mirror and decorative ladder and replace this later with some other decorative items like matching floor lamps, so you won’t be needing the wooden desk lamp like the one used in the photo.
On the opposite side tables, small decorative pieces or bedside essentials were placed. A small clock, some wooden vase, a small flower, and decor contributed to the look. If you want to change things up, you can trade these items with other decorative pieces complementing your new theme when you change the design.
The pillows also played a part in setting the bedroom theme. Aside from using a neutral color, textured and patterned throw pillows were also used to complement the theme of the room. You can replace this later with a new color and material depending on your new room theme.
Dark gray curtains match the room’s color palette. Changing your color to another neutral color like beige, cream, or white changes add to the changes in the room’s overall look.
Simply by changing the bedside accessories and focal point, you can totally change the look of your bedroom without the pricey renovation.
