Achieve a Cohesive Look For Your Living Room

Oftentimes we hear designing tips that tell us to go for a cohesive look. But what do we mean by a cohesive look?

Having a cohesive look means the design elements in your space such as color schemes, furniture styles, textures, and accessories are put together in a way that it exudes harmony.

This living room thoughtfully considered the colors and design they wanted to put in the room. For instance, it did not just match the gray couch with its single chairs, but the single chairs matched the accessories like the throw pillow on the couch and the peach flowers on the coffee table.

Notice how the table’s “legs”, posts, or support were also similar. From the golden coffee table stand, to the side tables, it all showed a unifying look with the ways its posts were constructed.

Playing with the colors pink, peach, gold, black, gray, against white walls as the room’s canvas, each piece in the room matched one element after the other. For example, even the colors of the artwork matched some pieces of the furniture. The gray couch matched the room’s rug as well as the decorative vase. The black door matched the side table, as well as the brass side table matched the coffee table’s legs, and the mustard colored throw pillows and painting.

This arrangement reflects how each design element is well put together and that no design element is left out of place. Since the floor area is open and rectangular in nature, you can switch your single chairs to the other side from time to time, or place the couch against the wall with the painting as the room’ focal point.

You can use recessed or pendant lights to add illumination to the room, as the living room uses limited natural lighting from its window.

Lighting is important as it plays a vital role in enhancing room function, highlighting design elements, and creating an ambiance that one would love to come home to.
